Centexbel assesses the textile-chemical and health parameters of textile products
The elaborated textile-related knowledge of Centexbel allows us to assist the textile industry in a most effective way to identify and solve any problem, to interprete test results, to obtain labels and to comply with legal requirements.
Key activities of the chemical laboratory :
- Inspection of textile-chemical parameters: flaw analysis, fibre identification and label composition, fastnesses...
- Protective clothing: permeation, gutter test, thermal stability, determination of chrome (VI) and formaldehyde…
- Instrumental analysis of functional additives and health parameters
- analyses both on gas (GC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC) mostly linked with a mass spectrometer (MS)
- other techniques include metal and element analyses on e.g. ICP and XRF
- Product emission
- emission in living rooms for labels like GuT, Oeko-Tex®...
- tests in the framework of product development and problem solving (thermal extraction, headspace, fogging, odour...)
