Financing opportunities
The Belgian regional authorities provide several funding systems to finance Flemish or Walloon companies in search of knowledge and advice.
On January 1st 2009, both regions have installed new systems in support of their SME's
The SME-portfolio in Flanders
The Flemish authorities (Agentschap Economie, IWT-Vlaanderen and Flanders Investment & Trade) have created the SME-portfolio in support of their SME's. Centexbel is a recognized service provider to PMEs for :
- Technology explorations : recognized by the Flemish region # DV.T106064
- Consultancy: recognized by the Flemish region # DV.A101548
- Training: recognized by the Flemish region # DV.O101549
These training and consultancy services have to be purchased at service providers recognized as such by the Flemish authorities.

Technology cheques in the Walloon Region
In view of stimulating the technological development of Walloon companies, the Walloon Region has installed the Chèques Technologiques operated by the Agence de Stimulation Technologique (AST). Companies can use these cheques to pay for the services supplied by service provider recognized by the region.
One electronic cheque represents a value of € 500 in which the intervention of the Walloon Region is 75% or € 375.
The number of granted cheques is calculated on the basis of an offer supplied by the recognized service provider (e.g. Centexbel) and is limited in any case to 40 units or to a value € 20.000 financed at 75% = funding of € 15.000 per year and per SME.
