Les normes européennes relatives aux produits géotextiles et apparantés sont développées au sein du comité CEN/TC 189 Géosynthétiques. Les normes internationales par contre sont développées par l'ISO/TC 221 Géosynthétiques.
Au cours des vingt dernières années, les deux comités ont publié plus de 80 normes et d'ammendements de normes relatives aux produits géotextiles et apparantés et aux barrières géosynthétiques.
Ce guide ne couvre que les produits géotextiles et apparantés sans traiter les barrières géosynthétiques (géomembranes).
Les normes européennes par rapport aux produits géotextiles sont divisées en des spécifications de produits (relatives aux applications) et en méthodes d'essai. Ce guide vous donne un aperçu des spécifications de produits et une description suscincte des méthodes d'essai.
