Oeko-Tex: new in 2012
At the start of every new year, Oeko-Tex® publishes a new version of the Oeko-Tex® standard 100. In order to do so, Oeko-Tex® continues to closely monitor market and product developments, new research and the various legislations, including REACh. As a consequence Oeko-Tex® is a label with relevant requirements, adapting to the for ever changing world and scientific knowledge. We are glad to be able to inform you about the new adaptations.

Updated classification of trademarks
The Nice Classification administered by WIPO in 1957, is a system for the classification of goods and services for the purposes of registering trademarks. It was established by a multilateral treaty called the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks.
Many countries have adopted the Nice Classification for the purpose of classifying Goods and Services for trademark registration.
Futurotextiles 3 - Call for participation
The completely new edition of Futurotextiles is being prepared today. The works, objects, prototypes, garments and samples will be selected between 1/12/2011 and 30/01/2012.
Turkey joins CEN
The General Assembly of CEN has recently accepted Turkey as the 32nd full member of the European Committee of Standardisation (CEN). This means that Turkey will implement all existing and future EN standards as national Turkish standards.

Although we acclaim all measures enhancing people's safety and actually saving lives, the new legislation has some rather unexpected consequences in the field of testing and standardisation! The CEN/TC207 WG9 meeting in Paris looked into the matter and came up with a solution!
