MBO recognition for VOC emission testing
Last week, DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik) recognized Centexbel as a competent test laboratory according to Section 18 of the MBO ('Model Building Code' in Germany) for the evaluation of volatile organic compound emissions in the areas of "Floor coverings for interior use" and "Underlays for interior use".
In Germany, it is necessary to have a "national technical approval", the so-called allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassung for construction products for interior use, within the scope of CE marking, for reasons of health protection.
Centexbel grows crystals on textiles
Ilja Visser (Dutch couturier), asked Centexbel to grow crystals on textiles for their fashion show at the end of January 2012 (Amsterdam Fashion Week).

Oeko-Tex: nieuw in 2012
Traditiegetrouw brengt Oeko-Tex®, aan het begin van een nieuw jaar, een nieuwe versie van de Oeko-Tex® standaard 100 uit. Hiervoor blijft Oeko-Tex® markt- en productontwikkelingen, nieuw onderzoek en de verschillende wetgevingen, waaronder REACh, nauw opvolgen. Op deze manier blijft Oeko-Tex® een label met relevante vereisten, dat zich steeds aanpast aan de immer veranderende wereld en kennis. Deze aanpassingen willen wij u ook aan het begin van 2012 duidelijk meegeven.

Updated classification of trademarks
The Nice Classification administered by WIPO in 1957, is a system for the classification of goods and services for the purposes of registering trademarks. It was established by a multilateral treaty called the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks.
Many countries have adopted the Nice Classification for the purpose of classifying Goods and Services for trademark registration.
TEX4SCO: vooruitstrevende textieloplossingen voor duurzaam bouwen
De bouwsector is een grote en bijzonder interessante afzetmarkt voor uiteenlopende textielproducten. In het kader van een grensoverschrijdende samenwerking tussen Vlaanderen en Noord-Frankrijk brengen UPTEX en CENTEXBEL een beperkt aantal Vlaamse en Noord-Franse textielbedrijven samen om na te gaan in welke bouwtoepassingen zij kunnen samenwerken om nieuwe en duurzame producten te ontwikkelen.

De algemene vergadering van CEN heeft zopas Turkije aanvaard als 32ste volwaardig lid van de Europese Normalisatie Organisatie (CEN). Dit houdt in dat Turkije de bestaande en toekomstige EN normen als nationale Turkse normen overneemt.
