Product development
The Thematic Innovation Stimulation Product development was created on the initiative of Industrie Vlaanderen in which several industrial sectors have decided to co-operate and create one large economic basis to support and encourage product development in the Flemish industry.
Together, the participating industrial sectors employ almost 300.000 people in about 10.700 companies. They have an annual turnover of 60 billion euro and create an added value of 18,6 billion euro.
This project is part of a broader cluster of projects aiming at the structural increase of the capacity and competences to improve existing products and to develop new products within the target group of Flemish industrial companies (with a focus on SME) so they will perform more product innovation projects in a more systematic and efficient way.

Clustering these projects allows coordinate actions on a sectoral and transsectoral level. This must result into a higher efficiency and larger impact of individual projects on the one hand and for a better cooperation, synergy and transfer of knowledge between the companies of the the sectors, on the other hand.
