Open Garments
Open Garments is an initiative of a consortium consisting of five research organisations (Centexbel amongst others), five technology providers and five industrial partners, from nine European countries.
Open Garments is a research project to introduce the “made-to-order” concept in the garment supply chain involving a radical change of the system by giving the consumer direct influence in the way his or her garment is designed and configured. Open Garments facilitates this by developing a new design, production and sales process based on the internet. The overall object of the project is to establish the perfect business model for this innovation: the Manufacturing Service Provider Business Mode (MSP) enabling individual garments.
