1950-1975

In 1950, Centexbel was founded by Fedustria (formerly known as Febeltex) - the Belgian non-profit association for the textile industry - to assist the sector with R&D and technical advice and thus improve the global competitive position of Belgian textile companies.

In 1975, Centexbel received the statute of Centre De Groote. The de Groote Act of 1947 provided for the creation of ‘collective centres’ to support technical (and technological) progress in the main industrial sectors in Belgian. The 10 collective centres are united under the name Innovaders.

We have found some interesting images from those early years in our archives that bear witness to a world that has passed and changed.
