Plastic and textile waste management is a priority of Centexbel-VKC. Therefore, we are organising an international conference to bring together all actors to find solutions in view of creating a circular economy.

Centexbel Poster Award 2018

Scientists and researchers are invited to submit scientific posters of their research activities and results within the scope of the conference.
The poster show is an important part of the event and will be accessible during breaks and lunch.
The scientific poster will be briefly presented to the audience on the first day of the congress, just before the first break.During the poster sessions, a jury, composed of the chair people, will select the award winning poster. All scientific posters are reviewed and rated on the basis of their scientific quality, clarity and impact.

The highest scoring scientific poster will be announced during the closing lecture.

Alsico is a specialist in workwear. As a family company with global activity and over 80 years of experience we are used to care about sustainability. We look at how we can produce a quality product while having a positive impact on people and the environment. A partnership with chain supervisor Dutch Awearness now permits us to close the loop and offer a fully circular product. The circular workwear is made out of a 100% polyester fabric woven from new filament that is made out of used polyester clothing. Infinity, as the fabric is called, can be recycled up to eight times. For mixed fabrics we offer an end-of-life solution; the clothes are shredded and mixed with plastic waste into a new composite (CLIFF) used for e;g. garden furniture and other various applications. These CLIFF products are recyclable again into a new composite at their end of life. We thus close the loop and create new, virtuous cycles.

SPECIFIC POLYMERS (SP, Castries, FRANCE) is a company acting as R&D service provider and scale up producer in the field of functional monomers, polymers and materials. The main goal of the innovative product developed by SP is to validate customers’ proof of concepts. In other words, SP propose R&D services for academic laboratories and R&D departments of high-tech industrial groups. In more than 15 years, SP developed the synthesis of more than 10 000 functional building blocks, monomers and polymers and is now working with more than 500 customers and partners in more than 50 countries worldwide. Green chemistry is a fundamental aspect of SP work and many projects are ongoing to find innovative alternatives to fossil resources from the biomass. For instance, SP is working on Biobased alternative to Bisphenol-A based epoxy resins and Formophenolic resins or to the development of isocyanate free polyurethane resins. Notably, SP is currently involved in the ECOXY H2020 Project to develop bio-based, recyclable, reshapable & repairable (3R) fibre reinforced thermoset composites

The registration fee covers attendance of the conference sessions, the conference proceedings, coffee breaks and lunches. The conference dinner is not included and has to be ordered separately.

Registration

Thank you for registring to the International conference on Recycling that will take place on November 13 & 14, 2018 in Bruges.

Your subscription is only valid upon reception of our electronic confirmation. Afterwards you will receive an invoice for payment, including 21% VAT. The payment of the conference fee has to be made on receipt of invoice and via bank transfer. If on your demand any changes have to be made to the invoice after it has been sent, an administrative cost of 15 euro will be charged for the new invoice. Due to organisational reasons credit cards are not accepted.
Annulments have to be made in writing. If the annulments are made less than 10 days before the start of the conference, no refunding will be made. However, it is allowed that another person replaces you, without any supplementary costs. In that case, please send us the name of your substitute.

Centexbel is an accredited training centre (accreditation no. DV.O101549) allowing Flemish SMEs to participate against a reduced price.

Public transport

Railway Station of Bruges is at a distance of 3 km. At the station, take a bus (departure every 10 minutes). The following lines have a stop 'Boeverbos':

  • Line 5: Centrum - Station - Sint-Andries (Hermitage) 
  • Line 15: Centrum - Station - Sint-Andries (De Prange) 
  • Line 52: Brugge -Gistel - Oostende 
  • Line 53: Brugge - Jabbeke 
  • Line 55: Brugge - Leke

The buses depart at the main entrance of the railway station. The ‘Boeverbos’ stop is at the Gistelsesteenweg (after having passed the GB, Brico and Colruyt wharehouses). 

Across the bus stop, there is a park: walk on the lane to the park and you will see the “provinciehuis Boeverbos”.

By car

Take the exit "Brugge" on the E40 (afrit Brugge) or A10 - after having passed the Kinepolis, turn right on the service road of the Express road (direction ‘Sint-Andries/Jan Breydelstadion/Z2 Vogelzang’). 

At the roundabout Koningin Astridlaan/Expresweg 3rd exit, direction Jan Breydelstation/Provinciehuis Boeverbos until next roundabout, 2nd exit, and drive into the Koning Leopold III-laan.

Park your car by preference on Parking 03. Free parking zone across provinciehuis Boeverbos, next to the Bowling Stones. At the end of of the parking, a walkway will lead you to the provinciehuis, (5’ walk). Walk in the direction of the fountains and follow the ‘ingang bezoekers’ (meaning ‘visitors entrance’) - that is the main entrance of the building. Please register at the reception desk where you will receive further guidance.
