Verpakkingen is één van de thema’s van 2026. Op 26 februari organiseert Centexbel-VKC hierover een masterclass. Er is niet alleen de Europese verpakkingswetgeving die in voege komt in de loop van 2026, er zijn ook tal van innovaties die één van de grootste verbruikstoepassingen van kunststoffen laat verder evolueren.

Via een groot aantal professionele sprekers willen we in deze masterclass deze verschillende aspecten aan bod laten komen. Bij het opmaken van het programma is er zowel oog voor een wetenschappelijke benadering als het naar voor brengen van voorbeelden en getuigenissen uit de praktijk.

De verpakkingsverordening uitgepakt

De presentatie geeft een overzicht van de Europese Verpakkingsverordening (PPWR) en het wijzigende interregionale samenwerkingsakkoord verpakkingsafval. O.a volgende thema's zullen aan bod komen: uitgebreide producentenverantwoordelijkheid, registratie en rapportering, recycleerbaarheid en gerecycleerde inhoud, preventie en minimalisatie, hergebruik, en etikettering.

'De PPWR Uitpakken: Wat je echt moet weten' 

Op 12 augustus 2026 treedt de PPWR in werking en veranderen de regels voor al je bedrijfsmatige verpakkingen. In deze sessie krijg je helder overzicht van de nieuwe verplichtingen en wat dit concreet betekent voor jouw bedrijf. Je leert de belangrijkste mijlpalen en aandachtspunten voor je verpakkingsstromen kennen. Je vertrekt met duidelijke handvaten om een realistisch actieplan op te stellen.

AmFiber™ Dual Life is Amcor’s innovative paper-based structure designed to be both recyclable and (home) compostable. With growing pressure to reduce persistent materials, compostability offers an additional end of life pathway for flexible packaging. It supports consumer preference and appeal while helping brands in meeting their evolving sustainability needs. The Dual Life structure balances barrier performance with environmental benefits through carefully selected building blocks. Current development is progressing toward optimized technical performance, certification readiness, and customer trials.

From Pilot to Practice: How Centexbel accelerates circular packaging (ENG)

Centexbel’s capabilities for developing and validating circular packaging solutions will be outlined. An overview will be provided of how pilot scale facilities and multidisciplinary expertise are brought together to move ideas from concept to demonstration with industry partners. Selected outcomes on circularity and environmental performance from recent projects will be shared.

Verpakken in een post-PPWR wereld - De Elvis-case: herbruikbare palletwikkels als systeemoplossing

De nieuwe Europese verpakkingswetgeving (PPWR) dwingt bedrijven om verder te kijken dan klassieke optimalisaties in materiaalgebruik of recyclage. In deze sessie verkennen we wat “verpakken” betekent in een post-PPWR wereld, waarin hergebruik, systeemdenken en operationele haalbaarheid centraal staan. Aan de hand van een praktijkcase rond herbruikbare palletwikkels tonen we hoe regelgeving kan fungeren als katalysator voor innovatie, maar ook waar duurzame verpakkingsoplossingen vaak vastlopen in de realiteit van logistiek, gedrag en businessmodellen.

PolyCert Europe - Harmonised Recycled Content Certification for Plastic Converters 

This lecture introduces PolyCert Europe as an umbrella initiative that aligns and harmonises recycled content certification schemes for plastic converters across Europe. PolyCert Europe brings together multiple certification bodies and schemes with a shared objective: providing open, transparent, and EN 15343-based verification of recycled plastic content. In addition, a new scheme, PolyCert Food, will be presented as a pathway to compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 on food contact recycled plastics.
