Centexbel supports companies by creating a dedicated laboratory with the necessary equipment that allows us to test End-of-Life materials for odour and for the presence of harmful substances and degradation products formed during production or use that lead to inferior properties and thus an inferior product.
ST4Rlab is set up to ensure you'll meet the EU Requirements for Sustainable Packaging and Textiles
By 2025, at least 50% of packaging must be recycled. From 2030, all packaging placed on the EU market must be recyclable, and plastic packaging must contain 10–35% recycled content, depending on its type. Additionally, textile materials must be free of harmful substances, and recyclers must clearly define when a product becomes waste and when it is reclassified as a raw material.
To meet these stringent requirements, textile, plastics, and recycling companies must ensure that their products:
- Do not contain banned or harmful substances at end-of-life,
- Maintain essential product properties throughout their lifecycle,
- And avoid unpleasant odours that could compromise reuse or recycling.
Achieving compliance requires robust screening, chemical analysis, and collaboration across the value chain. ST4Rlab supports this transition by offering expertise and infrastructure to help companies meet EU standards safely and efficiently.
