This presentation by Jun Yin - based on the  PowerPoint slides prepared by IsabeI De Schrijver - was recorded during the “Circular Design in Plastics: Towards a Circular Plastics Industry” event held on October 7, 2022, in Namur. In her talk, Jun Yin highlighted Centexbel’s expertise and research activities in eco-design, as well as its work on identifying legacy chemicals of concern in recycled plastics.

“Circular Design in Plastics” is a major initiative in Wallonia (Belgium), backed by the regional government and key industry clusters (Canopea, Denuo, essenscia, Greenwin, Plastiwin). Its mission is to support the plastics sector in its transition to a circular economy through eco-design methodologies, training programs, workshops, and practical tools. The initiative aims to strengthen the sector’s competitiveness by enhancing product recyclability, reducing waste, responding to emerging market expectations, and promoting innovation in product design, material selection, and business models.
