Pulling is awesome! A child up to 3 years old can exert a pulling force of 90 Newtons or 9 pounds. If the toy can sustain that for 10 seconds, it is safe.

Principle

Tensile strength is evaluated of the following toy parts:

  • eyes and noses of stuffed animals after torsion test
  • seams and materials
  • protective parts (protruding parts)

If the torque test has been run prior to this test, then the tensile test is performed on the elements that have passed the torsion test.
