Abrasion Resistance of Protective Gloves according to EN 388:2016Abrasion-resistant gloves must be used as personal protective equipment (PPE) in any environment where workers face a significant exposure to abrasive material. |
Physical lab |
Accelerated ageing according to ISO 1419:2019 / ASTM-F1980The ageing of textiles, composites and plastics, due to light, heat and humidity, causes changes in their appearance and in their physical and chemical properties, often to the point of material failure. |
Physical lab |
Accelerated weathering of plastics according to ISO 4892-2:2013/ASTM D4329Ultraviolet radiation, temperature, and moisture contribute to material degradation of products exposed to the elements. Accelerated weathering tests simulate these conditions to speed up the weathering process and to measure its effects on parts, components, products, and materials. |
Plastic characterization |
Antibacterial efficiency according to SN 195920 / AATCC 147 / EN ISO 20645Resistance to bacterial growth
|
Microbiology |
Antifungal efficiency according to ISO 846 / EN 14119Determination of the Antimycotic Activity - Agar Diffusion Plate Test |
Microbiology |
Antimicrobial Activity of New Carpets according to AATCC 174: 2022The test is crucial for evaluating how effectively a carpet resists or inhibits the growth of microorganisms, which is especially important in settings like healthcare facilities, schools, and public buildings. |
Microbiology |
Barrier properties of textiles according to ISO 16604 / 22610 / 22611 / 22612Centexbel has the knowhow and equipment to assess the barrier properties of textiles, surgical gowns, masks and drapes, against microorganisms and blood. |
Microbiology |
Biological evaluation of medical devices according to ISO 10993-5To assess the health and safety risks linked with the skin contact with medical devices, Centexbel examines their toxic effect on the skin (cytotoxicity, irritation, sensitivity,…) according to ISO 10993-5 “Biological evaluation of medical devices – part 5 - cytotoxicity : in vitro methods” |
Microbiology |
Burning behaviour of children's nightwear according to ISO 14878:2007ISO 14878:2007 specifies design and performance requirements for children’s nightwear to reduce fire hazards. It doesn’t prescribe a single test method itself but refers to existing flammability tests (e.g., ISO 6940, ISO 6941) to measure the burning behaviour of fabrics intended for children’s sleepwear. |
Burning behaviour |
Burning Behaviour of Curtains and Drapes according to EN 13773This method defines a classification scheme for curtains and drapes using ignitability and flame spread properties of vertically oriented textile fabrics in response to flame contact under controlled conditions. |

056-TEST scope granted by BELAC
The scope consists of a fixed scope, including test and product standards, and of a flexible scope, where no specific reference to the standard is included.
Flexible Scope
Accredited tests included in the flexible scope have a specific code mentioned in the first column (e.g. B001). Centexbel has a detailed list of these tests where a direct link between the specific codes, the test and product standards can be found.
On page 30/31 of the 056-TEST scope, BELAC states:
The laboratory is authorized to determine, under accreditation, the measured properties/parameters belonging to the specified group of measured properties/parameters for the products/matrices belonging to the specified group of products/matrices, using methods that utilize the specified test or measurement principle or measurement technique. This authorization is granted on the condition that appropriate validation and/or verification has been performed in accordance with the overall validation and/or verification concept, as established in the laboratory's management system and the provisions of BELAC 2-002 and BELAC 2-101. The laboratory maintains, for each applicant, an updated and detailed list of the specific tests (in terms of specific measured properties/parameters belonging to the specified group of measured properties/parameters, specific products/matrices belonging to the specified group of products/matrices, and specific test methods) performed under accreditation.
