Testing title Testing lab

Quantitative chemical analysis of textile fibre blends according to ISO 1833

Methods to determine the percentage composition of different fibers in a textile product by selectively dissolving one or more components of the blend using appropriate chemical reagents.

Chemical lab

Radiant panel test according to EN ISO 9239-1

Test method to measure and describe of the response of materials, products, or assemblies to heat and flame under controlled conditions.

Burning behaviour

REACH quick test package

Centexbel offers a set of tests to detect the presence of Substances of Very High Concern [SVHC], as defined by REACH legislation. This quick analysis enables manufacturers, textile finishers, importers, retailers and brands to meet the REACH SVHC obligations.

Chemical lab

Requirements for the manufacture of work clothing according to DIN 10524

DIN 10524 outlines the hygienic, functional, and design-related requirements for work clothing in the food industry and related hygienic sectors.

Physical lab

Resistance of protective clothing materials to puncture according to ISO 13996:1999

Method to measure the resistance of protective clothing materials to puncture by a standardized pointed test probe. The goal is to assess how much force is needed to pierce the material, simulating hazards such as sharp objects or tools.

Physical lab

Resistance to damage at cut edges according to ISO 10833

Test method to determine the susceptibility of textile floor coverings to mechanical damage at cut edges. It is applicable to all textile floor coverings both as sheet materials and as tiles.

Floor & wallcovering

Resistance to permeation by chemicals according to EN 16523-1:2015

Resistance to penetration and permeation are two variables related to the barrier properties of materials.

Chemical lab

Resistance to snagging according to ASTM D3939

Snagging occurs when loops of yarn or fibers are pulled to the surface of woven or knitted fabrics after contact with a sharp or rough object. This can happen during use when textiles come into contact with such objects, damaging the fabric.

Physical lab

Resistance to Water Penetration according to AATCC 42-2017 / ISO 18695

Test method to measure water passing through fabric under simulated rain impact.

Physical lab

Resistance to Water Penetration: Hydrostatic Pressure Test according to AATCC 127 / ISO 811

The hydrostatic pressure test measures the resistance of a fabric to water penetration under gradually increasing water pressure.

056-TEST scope granted by BELAC

The scope consists of a fixed scope, including test and product standards, and of a flexible scope, where no specific reference to the standard is included.

Flexible Scope

Accredited tests included in the flexible scope have a specific code mentioned in the first column (e.g. B001). Centexbel has a detailed list of these tests where a direct link between the specific codes, the test and product standards can be found.

On page 30/31 of the 056-TEST scope, BELAC states:

The laboratory is authorized to determine, under accreditation, the measured properties/parameters belonging to the specified group of measured properties/parameters for the products/matrices belonging to the specified group of products/matrices, using methods that utilize the specified test or measurement principle or measurement technique. This authorization is granted on the condition that appropriate validation and/or verification has been performed in accordance with the overall validation and/or verification concept, as established in the laboratory's management system and the provisions of BELAC 2-002 and BELAC 2-101. The laboratory maintains, for each applicant, an updated and detailed list of the specific tests (in terms of specific measured properties/parameters belonging to the specified group of measured properties/parameters, specific products/matrices belonging to the specified group of products/matrices, and specific test methods) performed under accreditation.
