Respiratory protective equipment

Respiratory Protective equipment protects the individual wearer against the inhalation of hazardous substances in the workplace air.
They come in two main types:
1. Respirator (filtering device) – using filters to remove contaminants in the workplace air. They include (a) Non-powered respirators relying on the wearer’s breathing to draw air through the filter and (b) Powered respirators that use a motor to pass air through the filter to give a supply of clean air to the wearer.
2. Breathing apparatus (BA) – needs a supply of breathing-quality air from an independent source (e.g. air cylinder or air compressor)

Ademhalingsbeschermingsmiddelen

Ademhalingsbeschermingsmiddelen worden gebruikt om de individuele drager te beschermen tegen het inademen van gevaarlijke stoffen in de lucht van de werkplek.
Ze zijn er in twee soorten:
1. Ademhalingsapparaat (filterapparaat) - met behulp van filters worden verontreinigingen in de lucht van de werkplek verwijderd. Ze omvatten (a) Niet-aangedreven ademhalingstoestellen die afhankelijk zijn van de ademhaling van de drager om lucht door het filter aan te zuigen en (b) Aangedreven ademhalingstoestellen die een motor gebruiken om lucht door de filter te laten stromen om de drager schone lucht te geven.

Équipement de protection respiratoire

Les équipements de protection respiratoire sont utilisés pour protéger l'individu qui les porte contre l'inhalation de substances dangereuses dans l'air du lieu de travail.
Il en existe deux types principaux :
1. Respirateur (dispositif de filtrage) - utilisation de filtres pour éliminer les contaminants présents dans l'air sur le lieu de travail. Ils comprennent (a) les appareils respiratoires non motorisés qui se basent sur la respiration de l'utilisateur pour faire passer l'air à travers le filtre et (b) les appareils respiratoires motorisés qui utilisent un moteur pour faire passer l'air à travers le filtre afin de fournir une alimentation en air propre à l'utilisateur.
2. Appareil respiratoire (BA) - nécessite un approvisionnement en air de qualité respiratoire provenant d'une source indépendante (par exemple, une bouteille d'air ou un compresseur d'air)
