R&D

From the beginning of 2020, the partners in the Curcol project have been working on research into the economic potential for the production chains from regionally produced plants to dyes in packaging. Spread over the entire production chain, from cultivation to application, new innovations have been looked at and numerous challenges have been overcome.

We are pleased to present to you the results and findings of our research. In this publication you can read, each step in the production chain, from the cultivation of turmeric in Europe, the production of yellow, red and blue dyes from the yellow/orange curcumin and how to apply these curcumin dyes in various biobased products to the biodegradability and safety for human health, life cycle and economic analysis.
